Will this event be recorded?

I have recorded most of my events so I can sell the videos afterwards. This won’t be happening this time for a number of reasons. One of the main ones is that this is a more interactive event. I will be getting you to do a brief writing exercise on your own, getting you into pairs to do a quick exercise, and so on.

So I don’t want to video the event. It’s also too easy to avoid coming to London and just buy the videos instead. Nothing beats being in a room and bouncing ideas off other people.

You seem so smart, Sarah. Do you think I could ever make the kind of money you have made?

I had a really tough time at school. I was badly bullied by some really mean pupils. It affected my confidence so much that I failed most of my GCSEs. I went to work at Woolworths, on the tills.

I’m dyslexic. Almost every word I type has a misspelling in it. If you have a name that’s more complicated than Smith or Jones, like De Campi or McGlone, I simply can’t read those names. So I don’t think I’m any smarter than you. But I work with what I’ve got. You can too. Never let beliefs like this hold you back. Tell me your challenges over the weekend and I’ll show you step-by-step how to transcend them: there’s a simple system to solve any problem.

I’m worried that I don’t know enough to come to this workshop.

I used to feel the same: I would avoid going to events like Martin Avis’s London Lunch as I felt inadequate.
